Certified Orofacial Myologist

International Association of Orofacial Myology
www.tonguethrust.com

THANK YOU so much for your interest in our course. We provide the most
intensive course taught and cover a broad range of subjects including
anatomy & physiology associated with the therapy process, measurements,
research, marketing, developing a practice, TMD, the therapy program and
habituation, and guest speakers to broaden your scope of knowledge.

Many of you ask about the certification process. Certification is not
required to practice orofacial myology. However, being certified enhances
your marketing ability and adds to your credibility. To date, there is no
licensure for orofacial myology. To become certified, you first have to take
an IAOM approved course, such as ours, or those listed on the IAOM website.
Once you have taken the course, you join the IAOM, develop your practice,
and, after approximately 6 months, apply for the written portion of the
certification testing process. Once you pass the written exam, you apply for
the one-day on-site evaluation, and once you pass the on-site, you become a
"COM", a certified orofacial myologist. For further information, click on
the IAOM link.

Sincerely,

Barbara J. Greene, COM
